the service of the nation on 16th December 2003 by
Dr. A P J Abdul Kalam, India.
National Brain Research Center Fellowships are available only to
students admitted in the following courses of the
NRBC: Ph.D. Program in Neuroscience (Rs. 8000 per month)
Integrated M.Sc.-Ph.D. Program in Neuroscience (Rs. 1000 per month)
Post doctoral Fellowship (Rs. 10500 per month)
Eligibility for National Brain Research Center Fellowships
National Brain Research Center Fellowshipsare the same as the
admission criteria for their respective programs.
Duration of National Brain Research Center Fellowships
provided to candidates during the entire period of their research
at the institute.

Ph.D. in NEUROSCIENCE
Masters degree in any branch of science related to the general area of
Neurosciences / Brain Research with consistent good academic record. Candidates from
diverse backgrounds that include, but not limited to , varioous disciplines of Biological
Sciences, Physical , Mathematical, Computer Sciences Psychology will be considered
or M.B.B.S. / B.E. / B.Tech / M.E. / M.Tech / M.Pharma or equivalent with consistent good
academic record. Candidates who are awaiting results of the final year examinations
are eligible to applyCandidates who have already qualified CSIR / UGC/ GATE/ ICMR
examinations are particularly encouraged to apply.
M.Sc., in NEUROSCIENCE
Bachelor's degree in any branch of science or in any subject related to the
general area of Neurosciences ( e.g. Psychology ) or M.B.B.S. / B.E./ B.Tech degree.
Ph.D. course work will be waived for NBRC M.Sc ( Neuroscience ) graduates who join the
Ph.D programme.
National Brain Research Centre Post Doctoral Fellowships
A Ph.D degree in any branch of science or in any subject related to the general
area of Neurosciences ( e.g. Psychology).
Application forms for National Brain Research Centre Post Doctoral Fellowships
can be downloaded from the NBRC website.
Shortlisted candidates will be required to appear for an interview to be held in May.
Train fare for second class sleeper from the nearest railway station will be paid to the
candidates for attending the interview on production of tickets. Selection of shortlisted
candidates will be based on performance in the interview. Decision of the screening / selection
committee will be final and no correspondence will be entertained.
