National Talent Scholarships ICAR
Introduction: The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), National Talent Scholarship is a merit scheme under which 230 students are awarded financial assistance, on the basis of their ranking in an All India Entrance Examination.
The entrance examination is conducted in order to fill up 15% of seats in State Agricultural Universities and Central Agricultural University, Imphal. Through this entrance examination, seats are also filled up in other institutes offering courses in Agriculture, Horticulture, Fisheries Science, Forestry, Home Science, Sericulture, Agriculture Engineering and Dairy Technology.

Eligibility Criteria for the ICAR National Talent Scholarships:
The eligibility criteria for the ICAR National Trust Scholarships are the following:
Candidates should be between 17 and 23 years of age and there is no relaxation in the upper age limit
Candidates should be Indian nationals.
Candidates in the general category should have obtained a minimum of 60% of the total marks in either
Physics Chemistry Biology or Physics Chemistry Mathematics or Physics Chemistry Agriculture in the
10+ 2 examinations Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe candidates should have obtained a minimum of
50 % of the total marks in either Physics Chemistry Biology or Physics Chemistry Mathematics or Physics
Chemistry Agriculture in the 10+ 2 examinations Value of Scholarships :
The amount of financial assistance under the National Talent Scholarship is a monthly
allowance of Rs.800/-. The scholarship is awarded only if the candidate takes admission
in a state other than his home state.

Contingency Grant
For PhD awardees as per UGC norms Selection Procedure Awardees are selected
through two levels of Talent Search Examinations at State Level and National Level.
Those who qualify the National Level are called for an interview
